Privacy Policy

The Short Version

MARCUS helps you understand relationship situations using AI. We collect the minimum information needed to make the app work, we never sell your data, and the situations you describe are processed to give you an answer — they are not stored on our servers beyond what's needed to provide the service.

What We Collect

If you use MARCUS without an account:
Nothing is stored on our servers. Your free decode count, XP, and history are saved only in your own browser, on your own device.

If you create an account:

• Your email address
• Whether you have an active Premium subscription

We do not store your name, location, or any information beyond what's needed to manage your account and subscription.

When you describe a situation to decode:

• The text you type is sent to Anthropic's AI service (Claude) to generate a response. This data is processed to answer your question and is not stored in our database.
• If you're signed in, you may choose to keep a history of your past situations — this is saved locally on your device, not on our servers, unless a future version of the app explicitly says otherwise.

Payment information:
All payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe's own privacy policy governs that data.

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
• We do not show ads or share your information with advertisers.
• We do not use your situations to train AI models beyond what Anthropic's standard API terms specify (Anthropic's API does not use your data to train models by default).

Third-Party Services We Use

Google	Optional sign-in method (if you choose "Continue with Google")

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data on their end.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see below). Since most of your activity is stored locally on your own device, clearing your browser data will also remove your local history, XP, and free-trial tracking.

Children

MARCUS is not directed at or intended for use by anyone under 18.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
